Risk of Rain Returns is a remaster of the original Risk of Rain, released in 2023. The remastered version will have several unique features, and we can now confirm we know the release date, along with all the expected Survivors to appear in the game.

What Is The Risk of Rain Returns Release Date?
Although it has been speculated for quite some time, we can now confirm that Risk of Rain Returns will launch on November 8, 2023. It will come out for the PC through Steam and on the Nintendo Switch. Other consoles, like the Xbox and PlayStation versions, are likely to be released sometime in the future, but we do not have any expected release dates. Hopefully, following a successful release period, we can expect further details from the Hopoo Games development team.

The development team has shared that the original roster for Risk of Rain will reappear in the remastered version. However, there will be three new Survivors to the series that you can unlock as you progress through Risk of Rains Returns. These are the new and returning characters you can play.

Every Change Coming to Risk of Rain Returns
Risk of Rain Returns won’t be a one-for-one remaster. Instead, Hopoo Games are making several additions to the original game to shake up the gameplay for returning fans. One of those changes is by adding alternative Survivor abilities. Every Survivor in the game has a series of abilities they can swap out for different ones, allowing players to customize their experience for each run and find a combination that suits their playstyle and the items they like to use.
There are also going to be new enemies, more stage variants, new items, more intractable, and a new game mode called Providence Trials. The Providence Trials are how players unlock a Survivor’s new abilities in Risk of Rain Returns, and it’s also a challenge mode made up of several mini-games for players to complete with their favorite Survivors. These additions will all be included when the game officially launches.
